Accelerated Pace (16 Months)

The accelerated MPH program is for students eager to complete their online MPH Degree with speed. Online study is designed with consideration to location and schedule, and to create flexibility for students excited to complete a degree and begin the next phase of their careers.

Working Professional Pace (28 Months)

Our syllabus is also tailored to consider more complicated schedules, so we designed a course of study to accommodate working students, parents, and caretakers.

New academic sessions begin on average, and depending on programs, every eight weeks, and typically lasts about six trimesters on the accelerated schedule. You can access an up-to-date start-to-completion schedule by degree.

Our Career Services department provides ongoing assistance with professional and career development through workshops and guidance for our online MPH students and graduates.

Public health administrators can work in a variety of roles and settings, depending on their particular interests and specialties. For example, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, health education specialists, community health workers, and health services managers can work in:

Will my previous coursework transfer into the program?

WCU considers credit transfers for the MPH program. You can work directly with your advisor to see which credits may be applied to your new degree and to get more information on the transfer credit process.

Will I be able to complete my degree or certificate if I am working?

All our online programs have been designed to give you the flexibility you need to earn your degree. While due dates and assignments help keep you on track, you will be able to watch lectures and complete coursework when and where it’s convenient for you. You choose whether to study in the mornings, evenings, or weekends.

Can I get an MPH online?

WCU's MPH program allows you to earn your Master's Degree in Public Health 100% online.

How long does it take to get an MPH degree?

There are two available program paces for WCU's MPH online program. Our Accelerated MPH program pace allows you to earn your MPH degree in as little as 16 months. The flexible Working Professional MPH program can be completed in as little as 28 months.

What can you do with an MPH degree?

MPH program graduates can work in a variety of positions and settings depending on their specialties. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, common workplaces for public health administrators include (but are not limited to) outpatient care centers, physican offices, hopsitals, and government facilities.
